Why is my Sim not listening to me?

I'm playing the Sims 3 and my Sim just got pregnant and she hasn't been cleaning when I told her to. I just built a new house so there could be a room for the kid when it comes and now that it's built, she won't go inside. When I command her to do something, it goes to the top of the screen and then disappears. Right now, she's tired and I tell her to go inside to sleep but she walks around to the side of the house where the room is and just complains and won't go inside. In the little bubble that comes up, it's like footprints but it's inside a red X. How do I fix her?!?!
