Yes and no. Before 9/11 I was treated like an idiot if I ever said we would have a terrorist attack while finishing a degree at a major university. One hour after the attack the campus was deserted. Long way from NYC. We have gone from over confident to the other extreme. No one really cared what Saddam did until he invaded Kuwait. Then everyone was outraged over night but the real reason was Kuwait's oil. If we want to win this we will get out of Iraq and focus on Afghanistan. People say that killing the leadership of Al Queada is pointless. Cutting off the head of a snake is an effective way to kill it. It would at least go a long way towards making it less of a threat. Hike_n_c Osama Bin Ladin got his start back then. So did a lot of his most experienced lieutenants.
