If I marry a Brit and we divorce under British law would he automatically get the children?

There is nothing automatic in British Family Law with regards to custody.......'in the best interests of the children' is the best legal UK saying.........it all comes down to parents agreeing rather than the courts deciding..........s if you are thinking this prior to marriage, my advice is don't get married or if you do certainly talk about this prior to marriage
